#WritingWednesdayAC: count your blessings

Hi friend!

I saw a man on the train last week wearing a “life is good” hat and I instantly thought to myself, “not bad.” It’s easy to focus on all the things going WRONG. Looking at the news, sometimes even looking at your very own circumstances, it’s not a stretch to find something that you dislike and can ruin your day. 

Since Thanksgiving is only ONE WEEK away, let’s find ways to be GRATEFUL today. Let’s literally count our blessings. We have a couple different ways to make this list-making merry:

  1. Start by setting a number of things as your goal (example: 10). Vertically write the numbers and fill in things for each number. 

  2. Use the alphabet as your guide! Write the letters A-Z vertically on your paper, then fill in something you’re grateful for that begins with each letter! This will definitely stretch your creativity (and probably be an eye-opening way to realize gratitude!)

  3. You can take this a step further by spelling out your name or a word vertically, and finding things for each of those letters! (example: GRATEFUL)

Start with an open mind. Before you even write anything down, take some deep, cleansing breaths. We promise, there’s more to be grateful for than you think!
